How do I access Family Based Services?

When there is a recommendation for Family Based, the Family Based Provider can be contacted direcly, an ISPT meeting does not need to occur.


How do I get a Medical Assistance card?


Accessing BHRS, MST, and CRR

Child/Adolescent must be eligible for Medical Assistant.  More Information on Medical Assistance

An evaluation must be completed by a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist

Arrange an evaluation by contacting one of the following evaluators:

Family Behavioral Resources (724-463-3600)

Family Psycholgoical Associates (Armstrong County Office: 724-297-8077; Indiana County Office: 724-349-6325)

Family counseling Center (724-543-2941)

Community Psychiatric Centers (1-877-899-6500)

Tricia Hammill (724-396-7225)

If you experience any difficulty arranging an evaluation or you have any questions contact us at: 724-548-3451, ext. 629 for Armstrong County residents, ext. 345 for Indiana County residents

Once the evaluation is complete, the family is then contacted to schedule the Interagency Service Planning Team (ISPT) meeting

Those agencies the family identifies may be invited to the ISPT meeting

If a recommendation is made for services in school, the school will be invited

An evaluation completed by a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist recommending a Site Based Autism Program must be submitted to AIBDHP

Indiana County-Regina Gesalman (phone 724-349-3350 ext. 345, fax 724-349-3341)

The County representative will then schedule an ISPT meeting with the family

The packet is submitted to the provider who then submits to Beacon Health Options for authorization

What is Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)?

Best serves children ages 2 1/2 to 7 years old

Evidence Based Practice

Emphasis is on improving the quality of the parent-child relationship and changing parent-child interaction patterns

Utilize a live-coaching model, where the parent is in the therapy room with their child while the therapist is in the observation room. The parent wears an ear piece and the therapist coaches the parent.
